I just deleted what I had written for today. Just a bunch of whining about being home alone and how there’s nothing but absolute shit on television.
In fact, I had a nice, restful day. And I went to a very nice improv event called Playback Theatre that some of my friends are involved in. In some ways it was like a class reunion because several colleagues I haven’t seen in years were there. My ex-wife was there, too. It was good to see her.
The theme for the event was new beginnings and renewal. During the socializing before and after, I couldn’t find words to share any of the many wonderful new things I am doing. And I didn’t volunteer to say anything during the event.
When I got home, I called two friends. I am blessed with the best friends in the world.
Instead of writing a big, heady analysis of the evening, I decided I needed to do some concrete tasks: I washed dishes, took the dog out, and changed the bed linens. Now I’m going to bed so I will be able to get to church on time in the morning.
It’s all good!
